Chongqing Chuanyi Automation Co., Ltd. (CYAC) is a core subsidiary of China Machinery Industry Instrument Group Co., Ltd.(SINOMACHINST) , a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Machinery Industry Corporation Co., Ltd.(SINOMACH), a Fortune Global 500 company. Founded in 1965, CYAC has developed through several stages — Sichuan Thermal Instrumentation General Factory, Sichuan Instrumentation General Factory (SIC) and Chongqing Chuanyi General Factory Co., Ltd. (CQCY) . Over more than six decades, CYAC has grown into a comprehensive high-tech instrumentation manufacturer, leading the domestic market in operating scale, product range and system integration capability. It has built a complete R&D and manufacturing system that spans high-performance materials, advanced sensors and components, high-end instruments, and intelligent control systems and solutions, underpinned by end-to-end strengths in technology, industry and service. Its flagship products — smart pressure transmitters, smart electromagnetic flowmeters, smart electric actuators and smart valve positioners — are at internationally advanced levels and hold multiple international certifications, including CE, ATEX, IEC, API, SIL and BV. These products are widely deployed in oil and gas, chemicals, metallurgy, power, new energy and other key industries, with a presence in more than 60 countries and regions worldwide.

Six Decades of Measurement and Control

CYAC has become a leading enterprise in China's industrial automatic control system equipment manufacturing industry

  • 1965

    Founding

    In 1965, a number of instrument and meter manufacturers from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Liaoning and other regions relocated to Chongqing to establish the Sichuan Thermal Instrumentation General Plant. Supported by purpose-built specialized branch plants, it grew into one of China's key R&D and manufacturing bases for instrumentation, establishing the technological DNA of the company's focus on industrial measurement and control.

  • 1965–1980

    First-Generation Instruments

    Taking unit combination instruments as its main technical line, the plant completed the design and manufacture of pneumatic unit combination instruments and achieved long-cycle operation on industrial sites. Following a high-starting-point approach, it developed series of pneumatic and electric instruments and industrial control computers, forming a first-generation automation instrument portfolio and complete-system capability covering temperature, pressure, flow, level, recording and other categories, and supplied complete automation instrument packages for industries including petroleum, chemicals and metallurgy.

  • 1980–2000

    Technology Introduction and International Cooperation

    CYAC introduced relevant technologies from Honeywell (US), Yokogawa Electric (Japan), Hartmann & Braun (Germany) and Yamatake (Japan), and advanced product localization through absorption and adaptation. A joint venture was established with Yokogawa Electric, becoming one of the world's major production bases for smart transmitters. Technical exchanges and international cooperation in various forms were carried out with Toshiba, Siemens, ABB and other companies.

  • 2000–2015

    Serving Key Industries and Going Public

    CYAC completed restructuring and conversion into a joint-stock company, and built a national-level R&D and manufacturing base for automation instruments. It became a major supplier of instrumentation and control equipment and turnkey engineering systems for key industries such as petrochemicals, power and metallurgy. In 2014, CYAC was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

  • 2015–2025

    Digitalization, Intelligentization, and Integration into the SINOMACH

    CYAC developed and manufactured a series of high-precision intelligent instruments with self-diagnostics and connectivity, and built multiple intelligent production lines and digital workshops, becoming a national pilot demonstration enterprise for intelligent manufacturing and the “5G + Industrial Internet”. In 2025, its actual controller changed to China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH), and CYAC became a core subsidiary of China Machinery Instrumentation Group Co., Ltd.(SINOMACHINST), accelerating international operations and the development of a global service network.
