CYAC High-Pressure Control Valves Achieve Batch Application in the sCO₂-1 Power Generating Unit

2026-02-25

In early 2026, the world's first commercial supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO₂) power generating unit entered commercial operation in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province. This is the global demonstration project of sCO₂-1, a supercritical carbon dioxide waste heat power generation technology. It marks the transition of sCO₂ power generation from the laboratory to commercial deployment, opening an entirely new phase in heat-to-power conversion.

In this project, high-pressure control valves independently designed by CYAC's control valve subsidiary achieved batch application. These control valves feature a maximum design temperature of 400°C, a maximum media pressure of 22.94 MPa and a maximum flow rate of approximately 800 t/h, with the medium in a supercritical state. The products withstood the severe combined operating conditions of high temperature, high pressure, high flow rate and two-phase flow, demonstrating stable performance.
