DF Multi-Hole Orifice Flow Meter
The multi-hole balanced orifice is the 3rd-generation throttling device. Measurement accuracy is 5~10x better than traditional orifice plates, with permanent pressure loss of only ~1/3. Multi-hole symmetric design balances and conditions the flow field.Suitable for liquid, gas, and steam flow measurement in single-phase media.

Features & Benefits
3rd-Generation Primary Element, Step-Change Performance
The DFPH conditioning orifice plate uses a symmetric multi-hole throttling design as the third generation of differential-pressure primary elements. Linearity is improved 5–10 times over a conventional single-hole orifice plate, delivering higher accuracy and repeatability and ending the legacy reputation of orifice plates as low-precision, easily worn devices.
Flow-Conditioning Design, Stable Output
The multi-hole pattern balances and conditions the disturbed flow profile in the pipe, effectively suppressing vortices, pipe vibration, and signal noise. Signal-to-noise ratio stays below 1%, providing a steady, reliable differential pressure signal even downstream of valves or pumps where flow conditions are poor.
Minimal Straight-Pipe Requirement, Flexible Installation
Only 2D upstream and 2D downstream straight pipe is needed—far shorter than the 10D/5D required by conventional orifice plates. For plant retrofits, crowded pipe racks, and any site where long straight runs are impossible, the DFPH is the most cost-effective solution.
Fouling-Resistant for Dirty Media
Symmetric multi-hole bores with small individual diameters act as bypasses to one another, so particles do not accumulate at the bore edges. In services such as coke oven gas, blast furnace gas, coal slurry, and dusty flue gas—where single-hole plates routinely plug—the meter remains stable over long-term operation.
One-Third the Pressure Loss, Energy-Saving
By splitting flow across multiple bores, the permanent pressure loss is reduced to roughly one-third of a conventional single-hole orifice plate. On large-diameter, continuously running water and gas systems, this delivers significant annual pump and blower energy savings with a short payback period.
